Review: Lush's Catastrophe Cosmetic

Catastrophe Cosmetic seems to be the firm favourite of many beauty bloggers, and I can totally see why: with Irish moss and blueberries to soothe irritation and redness, this was exactly what my skin needed.

Like all Lush  face masks, this one comes with a one month expiration date, and this was actually the first one I had to race against the clock to use up. If you use Lush face masks, you'd know they tend to have a bit of a thick, grainy consistency, which makes it hard to stay put and you need to layer it on - not this one, though. I'd put it on and it barely made a dent in the pot.

Did you know you can also use these masks as cleansers? (Well, you do now.) It came pretty handy when the expiration date loomed by and I still hadn't hit pan on this thing. Both as cleaner and as a face mask, this baby left my skin feeling super-soft and smooth, which puts it pretty much on top of my favourite Lush masks list (and yes, I have used enough to actually make a list. I'll post it here some day.)

This is a small thing, but I also really loved the scent - fresh blueberries, but like... I don't know, it really reminded me of an ice cream flavour I'd tried as a child. It really made it a treat to use, and afterwards my skin would faintly smell of it. I'd totally buy the perfume if they ever made it (to note for the future?)

Available at stores and online.
