Wishlist (High-end edition)

I'm a little afraid to write this post.

See, orginally, this was meant to be a Spring Wishlist, and then quite a few of the items "accidentally" found their way into my checkout basket. And by "accidentally", I mean I totally gave into the sales and I bought them.

My only hope for this wishlist is that the items are way too expensive for me to "accidentally" buy. In fact, some of those things I've been putting off buying for a while now and just... kinda remembered them.

Yeah, here's to hoping cohorted doesn't get any of these in anytime soon.

Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet - Every time I'm in Boots, I spray this on, and every time, my sleeve continues to smell delicious for days afterwards. I don't know what is it about that particular scent, but I just love it, and I'd love to have it, except I already have enough perfume and I move around a lot, so I can't really justify buying it.

Yet. (There should be a yet after all of these, really.)

Stila Convertible Colour in Lilium - Everyone is raving about the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes, but this is the stuff that draws my eye every time I'm on the website... window-shopping.

theBalm's Cindy Lou-Manizer - Highlighters and bronzers don't really do it for me, but a shimmery blush that acts as a highlight AND eyeshadow? Sign me up for that immediately! I'd really say the fact that I don't use much blush is what has put me off buying this, but, as with other things, it's only a matter of time. Clever marketing and beauty bloggers RAVING about it will eventually get to me.

MAC lipstick in See Sheer - This, along with my other pick for this list, I blame entirely on Estée from essiebutton, because that woman somehow manages to describe products in just the right way for me to be all: "I want this, now!" As I've been writing, I've been thinking about getting a MAC lipstick, and she mentioned this one in her March favourites video as a shade dupe of the Bobbi Brown Nectar nail polish. And I love how that looks, and then I went to Pinterest to check out swatches, and I was like: "Yep. That's the one! That is the one!"

And finally, because clearly I'm on a roll here:

Urban Decay's Naked 3 Palette - Again, I blame it on Estée. She recently had a colour dupes post for this exact palette, and then I went on to watch some of her videos featuring that. I think she described it as the "neutrals palette for people who don't like neutrals" which has me written all over it. And then I kept on looking at swatches, and I thought: Damn, I want. I really, really want.

Funny thing how shopping addiction works. You never know until it hits you.

And yes, I know there are dupes out there for pretty much all of these items (Maybelline's Park Ave Peach is apparently a perfect dupe for MAC, and there is a Make Up Revolution palette that is an exact dupe of the Urban Decay one.) I could probably get those colours for a fraction of the price.

But with these products, it's not really a question of getting the colours, it's also about the fact that it's a MAC lipstick or an Urban Decay palette... and yes, I realize this is playing right into the marketers' hands, and that I'd be paying money for a brand name.

What can I say, though? Aspirational marketing is a thing for a reason.
